Solar charging

I am building a shed for my RV and would like to know , if I put clear sheets in the skillion roof of the shed above the solar panels , will they get a charge or is it a waste of time. The roof will be about 400mm ( approx. 16" ) above RV.

Thanks

The simple answer is ...Yes they will solar panels only need light to work...

If you put a solar panel under a fluro light it will work ..not a lot mind you but it will work..

As Bob says, solar panels will capture energy in any light but obviously, will produce higher output in direct sunlight. Some of the older solar panels don't work so well on cloudy days or in shade (if at all!) but if yours are relatively recent, then this shouldn't be a problem.
