Newbie's Mr&Mrs froggo

Hi everyone,

finally purchased a camperbiggrin  We are looking forward to traveling our great country seeing the sights and meeting lot's of GN's on the way.

As we are new to this we want to start with small trips, building to around Australia in the future or wherever the road takes us?

Hope to catch you on the road somewhere,

God bless, the froggos

Welcome Froggos, plenty of GN's from Vic on here as well as other states.  Enjoy the forum and don't be afraid to post.

Welcome froggos - we are in Seymour at the moment - having been staying at Greens Lake near Shepparton over the last three months - where in N Vic are you?
What sort of camper have you got?

thanks everyone,

Hi jules47, we are not far from Shep and I know greens lake well.

We have a Jayco Penguin Outback and like to go off-road or into the mountains, hence the small lightweight

camper van. Our next planned trip is to Falls Creek Vic.

Are most of the forum GN's on the road full time or still have a home base?

God bless, froggos

Hi froggos - and good morning - I love Falls Creek area in the summer - beautiful, we did that trip early last year going over from Bright - just spectacular scenery!

There are a couple of GN's out at Greens Lake at the moment - they are in two A Vans - probably camped down near the boat ramp, if you have time go over and meet them - Dougwe is the smaller van, and tcp99 (Terry) is the bigger one - there may be others there as well -

As to full timers, had to say, we are full timers, having no permanent base, and know a lot of others who are as well, but then a lot we know have a home base, and only travel part of the year - it is a very personal thing, to sell up and leave everything behind - but to me it was a most liberating feeling, taking the last of the stuff to the rubbish tip and pushing it out the back of the 4WD!

I love this life - we have a motorhome, and that is what it is - our home! We are lucky that we both love the life on the road. Heading to WA later this year - with some others as well, should be fun!

Keep on the forum, you will find a lot of information and some fun as well. Happy travels.

Hi Jules47, I'm also thinking of selling up and not having a home base so was interested in your response to the Froggo's.  How long have you been on the road?  Do you usually free camp?  I understand that most free camps only allow a stay of 24 hours so am wondering where can you 'stay put' awhile without it costing a bomb?  I'm a fairly gregarious person and wonder if I will get lonely being on my own so much.  Do you and your partner or are there always other GNs around?
