1965? Jeez, I always thought the hydrofoils were "modern". I was only 21 then hehe. Just a kid. I remember the Manly ferries with a small band - saxophone, accordion, fiddle, etc - and lolly boys selling Minties. Riding the ferry on a Sunday was a major event back then.
Almost forgot the fun pier at Manly. And the dodgem cars. Kid's heaven.

I was 20 then and saw my first live sharks at the Manly Aquarium, was intrigued with them and went to Paddy Pallem (?) to get my dive licence. Sure was kids heaven and nice pub too, pity too young then to buy a beer legally. Made up for it later.
