To everyone who has been through the heatwave as it comes across the country, our thoughts have gone out to you, but now it is SE Qld's turn today, and I am glad that we chose to leave the other side of the Great Divide to come across to the coast. Brisbane apparently expecting a rather high temp., Biggenden 44 deg, and where we are at present - Boonooroo - just across the way from Frazer Island, it is to be a barmy 37 degs.
But no matter where you are ..... take care and drink plenty of water.
PS Just checked - Brisbane expecting 41 degs, and already 32 in our van at Boonooroo at 10am

those temps are certainly very hard to tolerate. However, I would gratefully accept any heat you could channel down here. Only too glad to take some of your heat away
Sale Victoria - 11am 04.01.2014
Temp = 15.3degC
Wind: Westerly at 32kph gusting to 59kph
Wind chill = 7.1degC.
Overcast and occasional drizzly showers.
They are saying 2013 was hottest year for ages ... guess all the warmth got used up last year
I want some summer dammit
Cheers - John

Put the thermometer out under the end of the awning at lunchtime - 44 deg!! Just a tad warm and the wind gusting quite bad. Me thinks the awning may have to be brought in before 'drinkies'.
And yes Gerty, we will be coming south - in the middle of winter!! Blooming families for getting things all about face - heading to Canberra in winter and the tropics at Christmas. Thought I bought our kids up better than that to be a bit more considerate, ahh well - that's life.

That's it - get to the most important things! Hot and humid here, 35c and 75% humidity on Magnetic island, but were landing some nice coral trout and huge(1.3m) barracuda.Coming south at the end of the month to get away from the heat and humidity. Bill
Eyre peninsular has been lovely for 3 weeks - other than the odd hot day. I think it must be the sea 'breeze' that makes the difference. Even had a bit of gentle rain.

hi, Biggenden was hot when we were there the other day. We are at calliope free camp. the cookaburras are laughing, the circatas are noisey, there is a lovely breeze, it's a good day.
So THAT's where my summer went - you lot piled it on top of yours Would you please be so kind as to send it to around 40degrees South, as we've had sod all summer-like weather as yet - we seem to be stuck in a perpetual spring
