RE: Camper an sites

Depends on whether you are looking at Hi Ace (eg; commuter hi top or Hi Ace hi top) or VW, Mercedes, Fiat etc? Manual? Auto? Diesel? Petrol?

New or Second Hand?  Budget ?

Here is one site of many, http://ballinacampers.com.au/index.php?page=motorhomes

You have already mentioned often in the past, Sydney RV Centre, you could also try to sale section of CMCA, some of the places mentioned here?   http://www.cmca.net.au/pages/marketplace/marketplace/motorhome_sales.php

Their members market ?, open to all purchasers?  (check all weeks).. http://www.cmca.net.au/pages/members_market/DecemberWandererMembersMarket.php#Week3

Kea used campervans (see cmca market place)........

First of all you have to decide what you want in a campervan and what type and what budget you are looking for.   You would have some idea by now from posts you have read and you previous research etc, once you decide what you want, then just concentrate on that.

Hope that helps....

I made a few boo boos before I settled on my present rig, Milo, and wasted a lot of time and money. So take it easy, make lots of comparisons, and seek the advice of those with experience.

One good thing Milo had some experience travelling with his Dad in his Dad's motorhome before his Dad sold it.

One thing I forgot to mention Milo is if you are looking at Hi Top High Aces or similar is do you want living area aircon for the rear of the van, it can be very useful for body comfort on extremely hot days if you have power.

Is Milo thinking of joining the fraternity of "wizz-bangs"? (LOL)

RE: Camper van sites

I think my budget will be around the $25k...
and I wont be rushing into it, probably wont happen either till end of the year or next..
and would like an auto too, and I am kind of thinking about a diesel version, cause I hate all the
stupid other versions of unleaded, and do the diesel engines give you a better range etc?

and yes I have had a bit of experience with motor homes etc..

Milo,

Hiring one is a good idea to know what suits, maybe a relocation for $1 a day or similar, then catch a train, plane or lift home.

if i were to hire one, should i do a 3 week trip or something like that ?
I would probably do it a few times before making up my mind I guess,
and for those who have hired a camper van who did you do it thru and what was it like for you?
