WE will be calling in to this camp site when we head South in the Autumn,

but that won't be until April when the trees should look their best with their change of colour.

We hope to catch up with a lot of G.N's, especially those who we met on our "Around the block" trip a couple of years ago.

This photo may bring back memories of meeting us somewhere on the road........

Morning kiwijims
what year is your patrol and how many k's. I have a 1997 2.8 with 280,000k's and was thinking it's about time to update but it's such a good truck I really don't want to part with it.

Hi Kiwijims,

When you do call in to Yornaning Dam later in the year, let others know when you will be there as there may be other GN's in the area who can pop in too.

Like your rig, pretty hard to miss, can't sat I've seen you but there's always tomorrow! biggrin

Howdy Hendo,

My old Nissan is an 89 model, 4.2 Diesel, and she has long gone past the 400,000 km mark,
It has a few squeaks and rattles, but it can still pull our van (now a 17.6 / 96 Jayco) at a respectable max speed.

We live on a rather busy main road and over the years, I've had a number of Gents coming in with offers to buy the old girl,
I ask them,... what could I buy with what they offer today ??? nothing as reliable as the old Nissan !!

like a good glue, I'm sticking to it. kiwijims

G'day there, Vic41,

"Yep" we will sure let people know when we are heading down to the lake.

You'll have a hard job spotting us if you are looking for the old caravan,

we sold that after our return from dragging it right around the Mainland & Tassie around 4 years ago.

We now have a common 96 Jayco , but secretly miss the old van,

it was a crowd stopper and the only one of it's kind in Aussie.

A 1970 Thomson T Line Gleneagle , built in Scotland and bought to Aussie around the early 80's (I think)

cheers  kiwijims.

Do you still have the sign on the roof rack of the Nissan?

"Yep" the Sign is still sitting on the roof of the back shed,

I should have put it under cover really, as it cost well in excess of $150.00 to have it made.

So we may not recognise the new caravan, but the sign will be back on the Nissan when you travel ????

No I don't think I'll be using it again,
it made a perfect wind shield when I had the roof rack on the Nissan, but that has already been sold.

This GTG starts at the beginning of February 2014 but some may arrive a few days earlier.

Length of the GTG depends on how long those attending wish to stay, some will arrive a bit later in Feb so a good chance someone will still be there during the month.

Correction to directions, it should read approx. 184 kms South/East of Perth (not South/West of Perth)....good spot Gypsy Bob, I was having one of my frequent Seniors moments.... smile

See link to GTG Section for more details etc.

I'm pretty sure Cathy (Jayco Gypsy), and Dunmowins will be there early, not sure who else.  Are you arriving early too?

Any Long Range weather forcasters out there?

I have a lot of trouble functioning in temps over 36°C, it can get very hot in the WA wheatbelt.

The area is big enough for anyone with a generator for their aircon to use it without annoying others.

The lake should produce some cooling effect depending on which way the breeze is blowing.

Not sure of the long term weather pattern though.

I may be able to get there on Friday.

My 1 kva generator won't run the house aircon but if its very hot, I'll start the van and run the car's zircon

Sounds good to me, or even running a decent fan off the generator (if it's worth doing) or a 12V fan.

I think it's going to be hot wherever we are, but we may be lucky and cop some moderate weather.

Bump again....sorry about the bumps, but only two weeks to go and some GN's currently in WA are on the move and may not access the forum everyday (or be in an access area), it would be great if as many as possible can make it.

IF we can get there what would my apperence fee be, I usually get $300 for a two hour visit, that does not include taking photographs, that's extra @ $20 a shot. biggrinbiggrin

Doug said to lure you there and we could have Wombat on a spit for nothing, would go great at a Happy Hour.

I'm checking out Cuballing Hotel for a possible lunch or dinner meal one day if anyone is interested, waiting for an email reply from them.
