Cheers - John

Once they get a good stock in place they could become a threat to some of the ones that charge like wounded bulls...

As a matter of interest I have found it is cheaper to buy a full sized anode from Tradelink and cut it to size than to buy a short one for the Suburban...

I am not sure about this mob.

have no dealings with them but when you check the website there is only a mobile number and no street address.

I have in mind a company that was recently prosecuted by fair trading NSW who was an online dealer too.

I will keep an open mind for now.

Gday...

Good warning Frank. As I said, I have no affiliation with this mob. They just might be a bit dodgy.

Better to have our folk cautious rather than unwary.

Cheers - John

It has been a popular subject for years and apples ain't apples. Check with Suburban and they will warn you as I will that some are aluminium, manganese and sink. Manganese is recommended but will not debate or argue. Safety is paramount not price and anyway about $2 in general difference if you shop around.

with you there Technomad

I prefer genuine if I can get it

less hassles that way and in my mind not worth it for $2

Didn't spell zink too well. Aluminium is probably for snow melt countries. Manganese for rapid deterioration that is associated will high mineral content like Adelaide and zink for boats and cray pots. Some one or said once that aluminium is better cause it lasts longer, so why would you want it to last longer? It is your protection so change it anyway.

One problem I see is warranty claims - you must return to unit to Caravangear (wherever they are) at your cost. If it's something big, like a Waeco or Engel fridge it could cost a lot. It's possible that most companies have this written in their fine print, especially online dealers.

Edit ...just did a quick comparison with caravansplus and prices are virtually the same for most branded items.

I reckon parts for caravans are like parts for 4WD vehicles - double the price.
