Waldrons Swamp 6km north of Moruya on Far South Coast

As reported months ago, this rest area was having a major overhaul. It used to have up to 14 overnighters at times (and sometimes they would stay over a month!). Everything has changed.

There is now a new access road from the Princes Highway. You can either park in small bays near picnic tables if you have a camper van or you need to now park on a bitumen surface in marked lines with no overhanging trees in another area if you have a larger rig. The circle where vans used to park is now really a designated picnic/rest area for short stops. Larger vehicles still have toilet facilities with a new bio-toilet installed.

Council has gone to a lot of trouble changing this area and has given good turning lanes to get into it. Hopefully people will now not overstay and make it available to all caravan travellers.

It is named 'Swamp' because a short distance from the area is a swamp. It's not very close to the area but I couldn't guarantee there were no mosquitoes!smilesmilesmile
