After having some clear nail varnish delivered to the bus I got up early before the sun warmed the rear window and after climbing up on to the rear box I painted all round the seal. Time will tell if it was effective in sealing the window but after light rain all is well, Brian had some varnish left over after sealing his window and left it by the bus.
I was taken for a ride Sunday morning with Richard to the Stanhope markets where I found a couple of items at the right price. A small short handled heavy hammer much better to bang in tent pegs than the light claw hammer that I have been using, still good for removing pegs. Also a fishing rod holder, not sure when it will be useful but eventually the rods will be used.
Was having coffee in Stanhope when I saw a tube of whinging pills and was immediately intrigued, forked out $2 and bought them. This proved to be the best purchase and caused considerable mirth when individuals started to whinge about anything at all were presented with a pill. I was enthusiastic about these pills and started a thread on the General Forum.
Sharon and Sue must have been impressed with the principle of whinging pills because they presented me with a tub of them at happy hour to distribute at my discression and made up a poem for the occasion. Rod took me over to Rochester to visit the IGA supermarket and I bought some pickled pork which I cooked in the pressure cooker together with some tinned vegetables and shared a meal with Rod.
I have been cooking meat lately what with the lamb shanks from IGA as well as the one given to me by Sue and now pickled pork I have decided that a fridge freezer would be a useful addition to my bus and have found one located in Frankston a 38 ltr Campion unit which I have bid on in eBay, if successful Chris will pick it up and we will meet up at some stage.
On our return from Rochester we took a detour and I noticed many trees fallen by the unmade quiet road we passed, the next day Darryl offered to go out with his electric chain saw to add to our depleted wood stocks. We retraced my steps and found the spot and set about quickly cutting long logs to load up in his ute back for resizing back at the camp. He electric saw made little noise and quickly accomplished the task.
Apparently it is illegal to collect fallen timber from the roadside in Victoria, you would think that you would be reducing the fire potential but no your chain saw could be confiscated. I didnt know this the last time and was open about the wood gathering and risked losing my chain saw. The new timber burned well at our extended happy hour with the biggest night attendance ever.
We have had quite an influx of new Grey Nomads and our afternoon happy hour with 23 attending nearly eclipsed the previous record of 24 set at my recent birthday. All in all we are having great time and I have been looking into the possibility of visiting the Elvis Festival at Parks in early January, accommodation will be the decider and speaking to others who have attended it will be a hoot.
