gearbox

Hi folks , I am new to this forum so I am not sure if I am in the right area, I have a RB20 coaster 1983 model  with a 308 holden as a power plant . Two years ago whilst travelling around Tassy I knocked out a bearing on the main shaft which gave us some greef but we finished the trip ,gearbox recoed and all ok .

Today whilst driving along , bingo no vibration but a loud noise and I think I have knocked a tooth of the input shaft or cluster shaft.

Question is , does anyone know anybody that has a gearbox for sale , easier to change it over than to strip mine again.

                                                                                                                                                                    Thanks Dennis

Hi guys , thanks for your replies so quickly, yes it is the original Toyota box with the Hadfield bell housing that I converted in 1998 and all has been fine , a few overheating problems in the interim but generally all ok .
I spoke to a chap in shepparton this morning and he has two boxes but it seems that our coaster was built around the model change which means there are possibly 5 different options for gearboxes.
All I can say is that I am glad it happened now and not next year when we are in the middle of nowhere. dennis

Thought of fitting Holden 4 speed auto ?
Better re-sale. stronger and G.M to G.M ..
Adapt drive shaft and fit nice big trans cooler..
No miss match of parts.. Trans mounting are easy.. Overdrive gear auto..

 Is it Manual or Auto,

I have a 202 with the Hadfield bell housing, The front shaft is about 30 mm difference in lenght from the V8 to the six cylinder gear box, Thats the only difference between the six and eight cylinder Holden gear boxes,

My gear box is a Toyota T60  4 speed From memory,

Mine is the standard 5 speed manual I think T50  that came with the coaster when I bought her in 1996 and using the Hadfield bell housing also , It was bought as a tow vehicle and accommodation when we were car racing but now that I am retired it will be our home for a few years off and on once the health gets better

,I found a box that is getting reco`d at the moment so I will put that in and see what happens .

I thought the engine torque might have caused the problem, but after googleing some specs its not that much different than Toyota diesels specs anyway.

202 Holden motor, T60 Toyota gear box, and a Monaro diff, In a Datsun Homer, Ex Bread van, I took the bread van off and replaced it with a tray body,

Motor, gearbox and diff, were all my work,

I was carrying 4 ton on it, Mobile welder and tools,

The four speed Gearbox in my Monaro, I replaced every two years, 3rd gear and the cluster explodes, Its a tow job every time,

The Toyota box never gave me any trouble,
