TV Pole

Can any of you talented GN tell me how to or what to use as a pole to attach my TV antenna to. I was thinking of an extension pole like a pool cleaning extension thingy and some brackets on side of van.........??? Many heads are better than mine, Thanks in advance........Sarg.

Even an awning extendable light galv steel tube can do the job, depends how high you want to go.
I had one that mounted on a spike in the ground and a clamp on the van's draw bar, found that
easy to erect. Three awning posts with a joiners in the middle did the job.

I have seen a swimming pool extendable pole used that way.

it was clamped into a fitting on the draw bar.

from memory I think Satplus sell stuff like that for caravans and extendable masts too.

have a look here www.satplus.com.au

Hi Sarge you can bye an aluminium extension pole from some caravan dealers, or go to Bunnings and bye an extension paint roller handle, wich is aluminium also, I put two pics here to show you how I mounted my antenna pole,my pole is from a caravan dealer, hope this helps.

Another handy item available at the dealer that have the extension pole is this bracket that you mount your antenna onto the pole with, just loosen the wing nut and turn at wright angle and you have your antenna vertical or horozontle,it is worth the money.

Have a look at this page The poles probably cost more than the recommended ones on that page. However I am showing this page for the bottom 3 items for mounting the masts. I have been using the second from the bottom for 20 years.

Thanks PeterD, this company is good and not to far from me either. Have checked out some of their other products and will be buying from them too.
