Under Tray tool boxes

G'day, g'day, g'day. Just had two under tray tool boxes delivered, awaiting fitting by a local engineering company (plus a few other jobs). I was surprised that no fitting instructions came with the boxes. Looks like I need to supply my own bolts, etc, and figure out where and how to attach them. I'll let the engineer sort that one out.

Has anyone else fitted under tray tool boxes? I'd appreciate any tips and/or warnings you may have. Click here for pics and specs.

You will need to be able to drill holes through the top of the box and either into the chassis of the tray or through the tray so you can bolt it up under the tray the last set I installed I also cut some lengths of 2" x 1/4" flat drilled to suit and put it inside the box running between the holes..

just be sure to seal the holes before tightening the bolts up..

Normal fitted to the tray chassis/cross beams. Make sure when fitting the person doing the job uses a 5mm plate on the inside of the box between the bolts on each rail. 2 bolts at the front and 2 bolts at the rear of each box. We used to use a 10mm bolt high tensile. At times we also had to weld new support beams into the tray.
cheers

The same way we fit them to mine service vehicles blaze. And all bolt holes sealed with silicone sealant.

Ah, beams! I stuck my head under the tray this morning and saw the beams... ribs, I call them, running east west under the tray at 200mm intervals. I noticed two of them already have holes drilled so it looks like there was a tool box attached in a previous life. Thanks for the advice and tips, fellow GNs! I'll be sure to pass them on to my engineer bloke.
