Washing Liquid

G'day everyone,

Just wondering what sort of washing liquid do you use if you have a washing machine inside your caravan?

Dianne.

Hi D and D, Cheryl uses Martha Gardners wool wash because you don't have to rinse and doubles for washing the dogs although we don't put them in the machine lol

Cheryl said that it is not a hard detergent. gentle on clothes and skin alike  we have been using it for ages no hassles and no complaints from me as my skin can be a little sensitive to that.

Wool wash - doesn't have to be Martha Gardners - we use the Earth brand - works a treat - environmentally friendly, no need to rinse so save water, and time - after all who wants to spend all day washing!!!!

Earth brand is available from major supermarkets - around $2 bottle.

Do you find overtime that is a bit of a 'build-up' of detergent on your clothes? Do you just wash as normal - machine or hand - wring out then hang?

Have been using Miracle wash Balls for 2 years now & will never go back to using a detergent, even at home. Absolutely saves water when on the road because no rinsing needed. If you wish to read about them just search for MIRACLE WASH BALLS.
All clothes are so soft, no residual smell but naturally "dirty" work clothes need detergent. Anyone with allergies recommend them as well but that is not a problem for us.

I too am wondering about the build up of detergent on the clothes if we don't need to rinse.

I use wool wash too but don't use too much. It's not high sudsing.

I agree with neilnruth, wool wash is not a high sudsing product - we do not get any detergent buildup at all - I wash in a 20l bucket, with a paint stirrer - professional painters use them attached to a drill, to stir large tins of paint - the screw bit at the top of the handle fits nicely into the screw handle of my mop - so I don't have to bend over to wash. And yes, just wash, ring and hang on the line - a tip if you are washing jeans or biggish items - use the bulbar of the vehicle to ring out - fold the jeans halfway over, take two ends and twist - easy! Works for towels, sheets, etc.
