We found this baby in my shed a few years ago in Townsville where our property backed onto the Alice River. There were big mobs of them but you rarely saw one. The only time I ever felt threatened was when I backed one into a corner in the aviary thinking it was a tree snake - turned out to be a brown. Stopped killing them after that.
That is one beautiful snake! Hope you weren't getting rid of it. I believe snakes are territorial, so if that one is living in your shed you'll be less likely to have a brown move in. That's my theory anyway, for what it's worth

The more I learn about people, the more I like my dogs (Mark Twain)
Took it back down to the river where it immediately disappeared! It was a pretty old one with scarring on it's body from fights and also large areas apparently damaged in bushfires. As docile as an old dog. Here's some more pics.
The last one I saw was a dugite (have also seen one on the beach sunning itself, slithered off into the sandhills when I approached) down at Denmark (WA) on a walking track outside the Rivermouth Caravan Park. I only had thongs on at the time. It was laying at the side of the track. I stopped and it just lay there, eventually just slithered past on the side of the track when it saw I was not a threat. I have rellies in Denmark who often see Tiger Snakes.
This is an excellent site for info on snakes, I went to a talk by Brian Bush who bought his snakes along to give a talk to our bush walking club. Apparently most snakes hunt at night, especially around waterways for frogs etc. I have a GN glitch at the moment so either copy and past this link to your browser or if someone could make it clickable please;
