Operation of gas on a three way fridge.

Hello All

I have a question for all you techo's out there.   Then using the gas on a three way fridge, does the gas burner continue to operate regardless whether or not it has reached it's nominated temp as per the themostat setting or does it turn off and re iginite when the temp increases inside the fridge?

 HI

You will need to tell us the FRIDGE MODEL before that question can be answered

Hi Two Strays,

On older model fridges and some current models once the inside of the fridge reaches its predetermined temp the thermostat cuts the FULL flow of gas to the burner and sends it through a bypass valve so the flame continues to run but at a reduced temp.
I believe that on some newer model fridges that are controlled by a PCB with auto relight the gas flow to the burner is cut off and restarted when the temp rises..

I have a very similar question. We have now traded our old MH in for a Sprinter Jabiru (year 1999) which has a three way Electrolux fridge in it. Lit it on gas last night, the little blue flame could be sighted in the sight glass and it started to cool. Got up this morning at 6am and the little blue flame cannot be seen. Tried all the gas (nope, not run out!), tried any gas line air blockages (nope, all good).....

As the original post, does the flame go out when it reaches temperature? We tried to ignite it again and again but have now ended up running off 12v whilst the engine is running. Any ideas folks? Model: Electrolux RM4400)

On that model the gas just goes to bypass when the fridge reaches temp.. my guess is that there is a blockage in the line somewhere..

The most likely spot is the main injector has a blockage or there is some other obstruction in the burner tube.

You would need to take the cover off at the bottom behind the fridge and if you are not sure of what you are looking at then you could give me a ring and I will talk you through a couple of simple things to check.

My mobile number can be found on the country music website mentioned below..

Hi Bob, when we get in to Toowoomba tomorrow I may well give you that phone call as we are complete novices at this! (plugged into a campground tonight on 240v so avoiding the gas issue)......Cheers Paul & Val

We are thinking of taking the Hino for a run up the mountain next Tuesday and we were thinking we might go as far as Nobby and then stay there overnight and come back down the mountain on Wed, we want to test the A frame set up and also check out the fuel consumption towing with an A Frame..
If by any chance you are still in the area maybe you could meet us at Nobby.. (Free camp with power and water and toilets if needed) and good food and beer over the road at the Rudd Pub..

That will change if these hail storms continue to batter the area..

Bob, that sounds like a great plan! Next Tuesday (19th) would be ideal as we need to spend Monday in Toowoomba anyway. Not sure where you mean by Nobby (again, we are COMPLETE novices being at this grey nomad lark for a full month now!). Am I right in thinking Nobby Town Park?

Let me know what you think as we'd love to meet up with some like minded people. My wife and I are quite literally just setting out on our round Oz trip and are currently 'semi-retired'. You just let us know at what time to meet up at 'Nobby' on Tuesday and we can be there (Mercedes Sprinter Jabiru).

Cheers mate!
