How to get from Wagga Wagga to Stawell area??

Just looking at which route to take when we leave Wagga for Xmas. When I put start and end destination in mr google he takes us into Melbourne and out the other side and back up to get to Stawell!! Hmmm...don't really want to go via Melbourne!!

thinking of heading towards Shepperton and then towards Bendingo, maryborough.....what say ye wise nomads??

Oh...and the least hilly route please!!!

thanks

Buffy

Ok I did Google and it gave me..

Wagga Wagga >> Albury >> Violet town >> Rushworth >> Bendigo >> ST Arnaud >> Stawell 587km 6hr 47 on the speed limit's.. so if towing a van or just cruising.. say 9 -10hr's..

Hope this help's..

Juergen

Psst I used google to help give me an idea of where I was going in the USofA..

I prefer the back roads to the highways, so, when I do that trip, I go Wagga - Lockhart - Urana - Jerilderie - Denny - Barham - Kerang - Boort - Charlton - St Arnaud - Navarre - Stawell. The roads are mostly deserted, in good nick and fairly straight for good distances.

I would go exactly th same way as Brian , mostly good roads , mainly flat .

You are looking at 580 to 600klix , a nice days drive .

just had a look on google maps . Yep , that's th way I'd go . And far Less traffic.

Hi Jenzari, welcome to the Forum, enjoy here and out in the playground.

Can I suggest you slip into "Introductions" and introduce yourself. After that check out all sections of this great place, just be careful of wombat holes.

Edit.....Sorry to Digress a little Buffy but it's always nice to welcome a newbie.

Yes - call in to Greens and say hello - all welcome here!!! Midland Highway, Corop, midway between Shepparton and Bendigo. The drive from Greens to Beaufort, which is not far from Stawell is a lovely trip, skirting all big towns, with beautiful scenery all the way.

awwSorrry, should have said welcome to the site!!!!!  Consider yourself welcomedsmile
