Hi everyone, new to the cooking forum, not sure if I should be in the general forum for this question....cooking my honey bran muffins just using a 12 paddy pan, I preheat the weber q for 10 mins on high first then place the muffin tray on the trivet, turn down to low but always seem to burn the bottom of muffins, can't seem to get it just right...thinking I should maybe put some alfoil over the trivet or ????? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...glad to share my recipe with you all...

Thanks Alex and David, will certainly give that a go, will try the heavy pan and alfoil tray first as I don't own a pizza stone as yet...def on the list thoe...
Thanks again for your help!
Yep I double over foil and place it under the trivit (folded the same size) then I cook bread scones etc in a tray on top of the trivit. Cooks good scone's just ask Dougwe
Sure does N&R, you can even triple it. The reason you double it is because you get a pocket of air between and acts as insulation as does the foil. It all is part of the "Indirect cooking" process.
When cooking a roast I place the meat directly on the trivet and two layers of foil with four slits in the middle under the trivet. The slits allow fat to go through a little. I only mention this as I came across someone that cooked their roast in a foil tray on top of the trivet and the Q is designed to have the roast directly on the trivet.

Hi Everyone sorry haven't been on for a couple of days... Thankyou for all your advice will def take in on board...Have cooked a beef roast using the double foil & trivet & the help of a meat thermo.. beautiful...
For you Delta18
HONEY BRAN MUFFINS
1 cup of SR flour
1 cup bran
1/2 cup of your choice...walnuts, raisens, almonds, pumkin seeds whatever really or a mixture of ???
1/2 cup of honey
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup cooking oil
1 egg
Combine all dry ingredients in one bowl &
Combine all wet ingredients in another.
Make a well in dry bowl & add wet bowl, mix
until just moist. Fill muffin cases 3/4 full...
First lot I killed in the weber q, second lot I pre heated
the q for 5min than on low for 10-15 min... I did peek a few times tho just to make sure...yummo...
On our baby Q I have put on a thermometor (Purchased at the big green shed for $10) drilled a hole to allow for fitting I don,t
think it's super acurate but it does allow you NOT to keep lifting the lid.
Hi Brian & Lana, I did think that maybe I could do that, I put my feelers out but came up with people suggesting not to do it as they have been advised it will crack the lid..
So there you go! You two have had sucess...have since bought a digital thermo & a glow in the dark meat thermo ( as you do...lol) I'll soldier on...thankyou again...
Question...have you ever used baking paper on your hotplate for say...pikelets or ??? Karen...
I have just bought a Baby Webber Q and I am still mastering it. Could you give me the recipe you use in the Webber for you scones and what times/temp etc you use. I cooked a chicken with one of the new convection trays under the trivet and it worked a treat. Would that work with the scones instead of double foil???
