My Ambition..[Toyota Coaster with the work's]

Hey Gerty..

Have been reading Yoelevens post and Blog's.... Been very informative..
Been a great source of idea's.. I like to borrow/steal useful idea's.. especially if it help's me and others out..

Dougwe..
Don't worry about the Bundy.. I doubt very much that those Particular Bottle's shall hit the road.. Last time I checked "IF" you can find them they are going for $$$$.. so I might just save them for the 5.0..

Regarding Sleeping spot.. She is no more than 1ft away from me when she is sleeping.. I have a dog crate which I will bring along when she needs to be kept in control.. I'm trying to work on a way to give her some freedom while outside, being a Jack Russel she loves to explore..

Hi all, 2nd ever post on this forum, so I would put forward My own ambition's..

I'm Sick of using a Camper Trailer to go away with.. [A expensive mistake].. It did/does have some good thing's going for it, but generally it is a pain to use a Solo Traveler.. Setting it up is fairly easy.. Takes about 1hr's to get it up, then about 30min to load in all the personal gear.. Taking it down and packing it up takes about 2hr doing it solo..

I miss the way I spent 90 days in America.. just drive around find a spot and park and just roll into the back and sleep..

So this is where the idea of a Coaster or something similar has come in..

The Vehicle ..

Ok My Base Plan, is to get an Automatic coaster or similar[Have to get an import as auto's are RARE in Aus.] I know this will make the over all MH more costly but Mum Can not drive a Stick shift anymore due to arthritis..

I'm going to do the fit out myself..

I'll get it compliance at the time of importing so it's a 4495kg GVM Motor-home, seating 4/Sleeping 4..

I want the extra Seating capacity if I decide to grab a few People and go on an extended traveling/fishing trip.. did Qld. a few years ago and loved it..[spent way way to much at bundy... but Still love the stuff..[And shamefully still have 4 bottle of it..[See Pic]

Electrics..

Electrical, I will do it all.. Have been reading up on what is required for the job and what I need do..

- Looking at a 512ah 12volt Battery system.. Provided from 4 full river 256ah 6v Batteries in a series/parallel combo.

- 600-1000w Pure sine-wave inverter

- 600-750 watts of solar Panel..

I'm toying with the idea of a Small wind turbine.. But I'm not sure what other will think about that idea.. 200-300w up a 6-8m extendable pole..

Plumbing ..

So a Shower Area, toilet combo..

Fresh water/grey-water and If I can work it out Black water tank..  Tank combo is up in the air at this stage..
I like the Idea of being fully take in/take out..

Normal Kitchen sink setup..

Filtered water system..

Sleeping 3 single [bunk single combo]

Chest Fridge/Freezer..

Awning for getting shade..

Other stuff as needed..

Over all I'm after a self contained vehicle that can get me around.. allow me to camp where ever I want to..

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Have I priced getting a per-setup Manual camper in Aust..? YES, but it restricts it to me or someone who is capable of driving a stick shift..

Will it cost me More..? YES..

But in the long run I expect it to be used more by myself and My near family..

The first is the bundy I got while in Bundy..

The second is my sneaky Little itch Athena, who shall be my travel companion..[sorry if the photo is a little to big..

Psst I'm going to be pick'n people's brain from now on on what is the best/ideal way to get set-up..

When you get your new wheels Juergen, the first thing you have to do is build a safe place for the Bundy or wombat, oops, wombats will nick it smile Second thing is to make sure your little buddy has good sleeping quarters.

Ok..

The Coaster has a Kerb Weight of.. 3.4t or there about.. from the spec sheet's..

I'm not sure what the Raw[kerb] weight of Coaster will be pre-fitout.. but if 3.4 is with the seat's then By removing the bulk of the seat's[Leaving 4] I should drop about 100-200kg's..

The Batteries I plan to get weigh in at 35kg each..
Solar Panels in at 20kg each so 60kg there..

Batteries.. 140kg
Solar Panels 60kg
Control gear/cables etc 20kg

That's the figures I have so far..

It's all going to come down to the Start weight of the project...

I'll pass the bus over a weighbridge before I do anything to it..
