Our Trip

Our trip was to take around 2 months. Where did we go? (Knew you'd ask that)

We went from Melbourne (Boronia) to Maryborough, Vic, to do some family History stuff.

Stayed in a CP and found a couple residing there called "FreeHazzars" they were working on their new tug

while waiting for their 5th wheeler to be built. They are a very lovely couple and Paul knew one of the wifes relies that

came from the Western district. We left there and travelled to Deniliquin, Forbes,Mendooran, Burren Junction. At Burren Junction we

met a great couple Val & Rob, The day we left Rob was made "Boss" wore his yellow jacket of power with great aplomb.

Then off to Lightning Ridge missed out on meeting Happy Wanderer by a few hours.( It didn't matter where we went HW had either been there

or hadn't got there yet.) St.George, Roma, Carnarvon George, Emerald. The Lake Maraboon CP is run by two openly gay men, and they are

the best, their humour is infectious and entertaining, and they put on shows some nights. Off to Rockhampton where we met a really lovely

lady "Sheba" Such a welcome she gave us and we talked for ages. The return journey was down through Bundaberg,  Brisbane, Toowoomba,

Tenterfield, Wirialda, Coonabarrabran,Jerilderie and then home. We had exciting times, met lovely people, Travelled to places we hadn't seen before,

travelled 6700klms went up some bloomin' steep hills,(Toowoomba Range under roadworks)and enjoyed every minute of it all. I hope we haven't bored you too much, I tried to

make this short so left out each individual stop we stayed at. Planning for the next trip is starting.

Happy Travels to all.

Kevin

Thanks Ralph, planning will be for around 4 months, but where to go?

Time planned, more thinking required for where.

Sounds like you had a great time Peterpan and it is always good to hear of where people have been and where they are going.

You certainly didn't bore us. It's good to read peoples blogs of their trips .it give us ideas on where to go. We haven't been to a lot of those places and will give them a look on our big trip next year. I hope we are lucky like you and meet up with some GN's along the way.

Glad you and Hillary got home safely Kevin.  Sounds as though you've been bitten by the Bug.  Doesn't take long to infect you does it ?  biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Which direction will you take next time ?

Cheers,

Sheba.

Hey Kevin, nice to hear your trip was fantastic. Ours to was great but we are now home wondering where to next. We did about 7000 km. Sadly because of bushfires ( not in our area but general lyric everywhere) will put travel on hold till December. Rob now has the orange version of "bosses jacket" hope that doesn't make him doubly bossy ! Take care and catch you out on the track again cheers.
