Yes Milo - they are the things you will remember and have a laugh about later - sometimes the things that drive you mad now, will be hilarious when you think of them - and talk about them.

I notice in the pic on the other thread he is smoking a pipe, is he still doing that with his lung cancer?
My Dad was a smoker, but when he was dying from prostate cancer he stopped, when he died he had a couple of cartons of smokes he had never used. Maybe he was trying to hang onto life a bit longer, who knows.
Milo, I can relate so much to the television thing with your Dad, and in the future it will be one of the things that you will probably miss and laugh about. My late husband use to whistle all the time, no particular tune, use to drive me nuts, I craved the quiet, I would give anything to have that noise around me now. I often laugh about how I am sure he use to do it at times to get a raise out of me.
Take care of yourself during this time also.

hi Vic , yes he is still smoking and yes its from smoking he got what he has but I see no point giving it up now..
I agree Milo, he may as well do what he enjoys most in the time he has left.
Not many pipe smokers around these days like they did in the old days, I smoked one at one time, stopped smoking altogether about 30 years ago, best thing I ever did, but not easy.
There were no warnings around about the dangers of smoking then like there are today, don't know if it would have made any difference though at the time, lots more people smoked then too.
Oh Milo add it to your list of things I must remember not to do in case whoever is around me when I'm older, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's. won't like it. Think about what you possibly have done that he's been tolerant of in your life.
If the sounds off I'd be grateful. We're thinking of you and Dad and your family.
