Radiator Hoses 1985 Toyota Coaster BB20

We have a Toyota Coaster 1985 BB20 with 3B engine and we are having problems locating new radiator hoses for it, Tried local Spare parts place and they have nothing listed in any of their books.

Tried Toyota Dealer spares section and they were not able to be of much help either, So the question is where do you get new hoses for these vehicles. We need all the heater hoses also for it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Buy some convoluted hose in your size that you want ,it bends to any shape, where to get it ,try Repco .

As for the heater hoses many of these can be replaced with the standard 3/4" heater hose, can be bought off the roll @ $x per mtr.

Often have to make the replacement hose longer as you need to position it so that it will not kink & restrict water flow.

I have always carried a mtr or two of this for spares along with a few hoseclips verses the individual hoses.

You can also buy larger diamiter hose for the straight sections, eg, bypass hose.

You can normally find a similar type of hose that will fit or the convoluted hose sounds the go. When on the road stop of some of the old time service stations some have spares going back pre WW2. The number of vehicles I've owned and always carried spare hoses and belts and never had to use one yet but the day will come I'm sure

All good suggestions, The heater hoses bend at a lot of angles but I'll see what I can manage.

I've replaced both top and bottom 3B rad hoses, I sourced them from Repco, had to order the bottom one tho.

Because Supercheap only hires failed woollies checkout chicks who wouldn't know a rocker cover gasket from a skull head gear knob, but they do sometime have a large range so I have been able to take the old hose in and find something close enough, or only needs an end cut off etc.

Finding a good spare parts place is hard, as the old fashion spare parts places that knew that there were different 351 Ford V8's and don't stock glow in the dark wheel covers are going the way of the dodo.

SWB landcruisers fitted with the 3B & 13BT have the identical hoses, radiator, thats how i found mine. Almost all the running gear in Coasters is from Landcruisers.

Recently, a friend who had an F100 with an American 6 cylinder engine, needed a new bottom hose for it and couldn't buy one anywhere. In the finish he had to buy two common bottom hoses, one to fit the block, one to fit the radiator, then cut and joined them with a piece of steel pipe and a couple of hose clamps. Not ideal, but it worked a treat.
