Apparently the Bigpond Email Server is down and they are working on it according to their tech department.
They must have a separate one for their general internet as I can access sites such as this ok, just not emails.
It's been like this for a few hours, so hope they get it fixed soon, the recorded bigpond message just says they are unable to say when it will be fixed, just they are working on it.

Yes,its been down since last night . A bit ofa pain as I am selling stuff on ebay, and can't get any questions. It would be nice if they would text or sms when there is problems. So much for premium service- there isn,t any. Hope it comes back this morn. Bill

All back on now Bill, I have a couple of items on Gumtree and in the middle of negotiations, so glad it's back up now.
I'm not with bigpond but have also had issues. I've had to put a password in for my modem before I can get internet access. I now know what to do without going through the rigmarole of phone calls to the ISP support service - which I have discovered is charging me $2 every time they help me! That's new.

New one on me too neilnruth, I didn't bother calling them I just gave Bigpond a ring and a recorded voice told me it was down.
I've never struck that one before, my son said he had not trouble with his email, I think he is with TPG and they don't have bigpond as a third party provider....

This $2 is that charged to you because of who you are with, as I have never been notified of this charge from Big pond.
We've been with our ISP for years too and it's a first. Not happy when they didn't fix the problem - I (Ruth) worked it out for myself two days later when it had kept happening every time I logged on. Might tell them one day!
