One Of The Best.Lockington Vic.

On our last trip coming over from WA we took the long route to get here ,we decided to head to Echuca Vic and planned to stay around there for a few weeks, but after one night jammed into a certain caravan park there I was ready to keep moving on to greener pastures.

Got talking to the bloke who was parked up next to us who was leaving in the morning as well, who told us about a beaut low cost camp out at a small town called Lockington, about a half hr drive S/E from Echuca population about 800.

What a hidden gem this place is all for $15 per night it was a 48hr limit but It is seven nights now.

First camp we have had three of the committee members come around to ask us all if we were comfortable enough and if they could help out if we were not !!! This stop over is walking distance to the shops the baker shop that is inside the s/ market has the best sour dough bread it was still fresh four days after we brought it.The local butcher shop proudly displays his 1st and second placing trophies for his Sausage King competition winnings.Make sure you stock up on these they are what sausages should taste like.

The pub has fantastic meals and the owner of the pub was behind getting this low cost camp up and running with other locals.

Beaut pizza and fish and chips also from café.

The facilities here are second to none very clean and modern, there is also a dump point which was brought from the fees at a cost of $1.340.

They do have a sense of humour out there ,a must look/see is Locky Ness Monster (Yabby) it can be raised from the depths by anyone game enough to pull the lever.

Also the illuminated rotating fountain that can be stated by anyone who pushes the button.

The heritage Centre is worth a visit also. There is a lot of different day trips you can take and know your van is safe.

All the money from the camp fees goes back into the up keep of this magic spot.

The men will call in evening time to collect fees.

Would we go back YOU BETCHA .

Welcome I see you have been a member of the forum for 15 month great to see your first post . The best help I think I can give to do a google search of Lockington will give you a better idea , Herbie has given a fair decription of were it is but a look at Google map tells it all , I am sure if you behave yourself and there is not to many there you would be able to stay a little longer goodb luck with your google search if you have not got google you must down load it

Lockington or Locky as us locals call it, is a very small town just of Echuca.
Welcome Nuozzie, I'm sure you won't get lost, one small main street with a few side streets

The Camp/park is located in main st behind fire station, you can stay there now for 7 days it used to be 3 days.

The is nice big large rotunda all surrounded with immaculate landscaped gardens, some of the best drinking water it tasted like fresh spring water to us.Good night time lighting,Free BBQ's, heaps of space ,hot showers, flushing toilets.

Many years ago the Locky pub was famous for it's $1 counter lunches. Even made it into the Good Food thingo the Age news paper runs.
