Yellow L.E.D. lights.

Working on the theory that bugs are less attracted to yellow lights

I fitted some LEDs to the outside of our 'van.

White ones are everywhere on Ebay.

Found yellow ones, a 5 mtr roll for less than $30.

Sadly the camera flash diminishes the yellow effect.

But you get the idea.

Just wired them into the 12V light wiring.IMG_0955.JPG A.jpg

Sooo... the burning question here is, what was the percentage ratio of bug to light?

While on a fishing trip in the NT some years back to bugs were uncountable. We had a weather proof fluro camping light which the bugs loved, in desperation we hung a fluro work shirt , lime green/yellow over the light & no more bugs.

A pilot I've worked with on the road had a row of sticky white LED's for the back door of his van, and a row of yellow lights to deter the bugs. It's worked so far.
We have a 12 volt shop here in Adelaide. I like that shop. Nearly as good as Bunnings.
Some auto shops have them, and I guess there's always online. Just google LED lights I suppose. Good luck.
