After 6 weeks we finally arrived at our sons place at Beveridge, which is about 40 klms north of Melbourne right on the Hume Highway.
We planned on leaving Brisbane and heading for Bourke and then down the Darling River. After arriving in Tenterfield and experiencing very cold winter nights as well as car trouble, we decided to head for the coast and warmer weather. Had to end up in Sydney to have our Range Rover serviced by experienced L/R dealer. Spent a week in Sydney and then headed down the Princes highway to Kiama. We found a very nice free camp spot west of Kiama called Kangaroo Valley. Beware!!!! you will climb 500 metres up and down the range to get there but well worth it.
From Melbourne we hope to go along the great ocean road then to Adelaide then follow the Murray all the way back to Albany. Want to test some of the great golf courses along the Murray. Back to Beveridge and then up to follow the Darling to Bourke and then Brisbane.
As you can see no hurry and we tend to camp where ever we throw our hat. Great experience.
I gotta tell you that today Brisbane temp was Min 15 and Max 30 whilst Melbourne ( Beveridge) was Min 5 and Max 15 ( Brisbane Min.)
Bloody cold place. But spring is here and summer is only a couple of months away.
Sounds like a good trip - but - where you are down there would be very cold!!!! We are in SA on the Murray at Cadell, and pretty cold tonight, with threat of rain!!
Enjoy your trip - but do you mean Albury? not Albany??
