Here's something that failed to impress our grandkids - even the kids on the block were 'ho-hum'. Not even a hint that they may be interested. All grey nomads will remember them once they see them....freshly hatched too and I bet you enjoyed them when you were a kid.
Yep ... I kept em - for a while. Then I discovered chickens and hens and roosters ... I much preferred breeding chooks. I had 18 hens and 2 roosters from about age 8 until age 11.
cheers - John

Doug - it ain't Uncle Al, he only takes from you what happened recently, but that's just going from memory.....I think.
The smell I get is musty, overpowering and stuffy - a bit like in a yachts sail locker that hasn't been opened for years.
Regarding Uncle Al, I wonder if the memory of scent/smell diminishes when he visits.....every time I smell cheap perfume (not often) I'm reminded of the stuff I used to buy from Coles for my Mum in the early 50's for her birthday.
A few years ago, a "modern kid" from across the road used to show me his shoe box full of mulberry leaves and silk worms on his way to school. So at least some kids are still kids. I remember his pet frog too. He's 16 now so he's into more "mature" things.
When we ran out of Mulberry leaves we would feed them on rose leaves, the only difference was Mulberry leaves produce yellow silk and rose leaves produce white silk.
