The reason I am asking this question is my farther inlaw whom is of elderley age had a bad fall voting on Saturday thought may be an age limit on voting.

Or you can ask the vote issuing officer to come to your vehicle at the booth & do it all from there. 

I did it for people several times at the last Qld State election.  (and still got the wrong bloody result)

I can imagine the uproar there would be, if because we reach a certain age you are no longer allowed to vote.
If as you grow older and become infirm you can still post a postal vote and in many nursing homes provision is made to assist those who are no longer able to get to a polling station on the day to make their vote before election day.
Our elected representatives will often go out of their way to assist those who are having physical difficulties in getting to a polling place on the day to make their vote.
