Worth a trip to the newsagent or supermarket.

The latest edition of caravan & Motorhome magazine has a great free camping supplement. Different possible routes around the country with a great guide to some of the free camps. Many are familiar names from the travellers on this forum, and still many more.

well worth the $$$$$ as a quick reference resource.

Is that the one that has the CDs in it? If so we have just started buying them and they are fantastic. The latest one with the free camps in the high country has made us change our trip plans to take in those areas before xmas.

Sure the apps etc are good but it's also good to get the mag occasionally to see what's around in the accessary world and read about new release CV's and Motorhomes. I still like by 'Bible'.

I get 'On The Road' and like that, has a bit of everything.

Hey Dougwe, have to agree with you, we like the "On The Road' mag - what did you think of the poems etc.?

I think everything is good in the mag, Pejay. I missed the last two issues due to not available in the locations I was at at the time. Hope to get September issue in the morning.

The magazine provides ideas of places to go and different roads that those that are new to travelling or not fulltime, can be inspired to investigate. Also at eac location free or cheap places to see or things to do. Wiki camps is great, just had a look at it but does not provide the inspiring ideas that the mags do. Each to their own though.

I downloaded wiki camps to my ipad last night and had a play. Im impressed. Still like the camps book as well as you dont always have internet in some areas, so i think both will work well together, but very impressed with wiki camps.

we used to buy those books ,and then one day we noticed that they were like old
they might be that months but the adds in them that had stuff on special were like
old, so you could not get the special ,plus stuff they printed was old ,say for instance
a place to camp that was free and now not free .

so we gave up buying them in may this year.

I agree with Glassies I purchased Caravan and motor home for many years usually through annual subscription but they have become too repetitive with the same article although small changes done over and over now if in a newsagent and I see something I particularly want to know about I will purchase one. I will have a look at the one that Doug has recommended as I do like a good read especially on caravanning and touring Australia.
