I have previously replied to a similar enquiry on this forum. We have a AWD Territory Diesel and it has proved to be a very comfortable, reliable tug with heaps of torque (I think it has 430NM) and we tow a 20'6" legacy Van and average 14Litres per 100K when towing and round 10 litres when unhooked. It is very quiet, with very little road noise. This is our second Territory (previously had a petrol AWD which was very thirsty) and as a motoring enthusiast ( I have raced single seaters and now have an EVO 8 RS Sports Sedan) I have had considerable experience with a variety of tugs and the Territory represents great value. The prices are very negotiable. Best of luck whatever you choose. (Note I have no affiliation with Ford or any of their dealers).

We have a '06 RWD Territory and tow a Avan Cruiser - 1100KG ATM. We cruise at the speed limits nowdays and lately get around 13.5l/100km cruising. On it's own it will get about 10l/100km cruising again at the posted speed. They have a 'name' for chewing fuel but they chew less than a Landcruiser/Patrol on petrol believe it or not. They are as reliable as a Falcon which is the most popular taxi as they use identical parts generally. Ride is very smooth and car corners well unlike most SUVs. Performance is very good with a torquey engine that does not rev high. Tows very well. Parts are cheap and readily available. I do all my own servicing and repairs so they are pretty simple. RWD has 4 speed auto whilst AWD has 6 speed which is stronger but costs more to service. Not as reliable as a Toyota but they cost a fraction of a Toyota price. They are Australian made!
Good Luck.
