There is talk by members of the need for a "fuel watch" section. How can this be started up ??
Lots of members would have an input, but how is this conveyed to us all.
For example I know that....
1, NSW.....The BP depot in Wilcannia sells diesel at a significant discount, I paid 9 cents less than the asking price in the main street recently.
2, ALL STATES.... Don't forget Woolworths and Coles shopper dockets in the bigger towns.
3, ALL STATES... Always go for a drive around the town, to check prices first.
Question...Is it possible that grey nomads can buy a fuel card from the big suppliers, and get discounts ???
While not fuel for the car, gas for the van is also priced all over the place. I was charged $28 to refill a 4 kg gas bottle in Roma. I was advised to buy from BCF stores in future, and was charged only $27 for my 9 kg bottle at the Emerald BCF shop.
Hope we can get fuel watch up and running, and include fuel for our fridges as well.
Interesting idea. Is this something that many of you would like to see us try? My biggest concern would be that the information would become outdated very quickly. But if enough people would use it regularly, it could be worth a go. Thoughts, anybody?
I agree with cindy ?? [ I am to scared not to ] I think it would be very difficult to keep up to date, ?? If you type ''Fuelwatch into google most of the Motor organisations, like RACV etc have a list that is updated Every Morning,
I have just arrived in Port Augutta after expecting to be here 3 weeks ago but a short stay in hospital with SWMBO sorted that out. All good now, less the gall bladder. Fuel at UFil in Grand Junction Road in Adelaide was 1.519 for diesel. Is a large self serve truck stop so no other fuels available. Diesel at the Shell on the Stuart/Eyre Highway intersection in Pt Augutta is 1.579 less a Coles docket if you have one. BP was 1.599. Starting west to Esperance via Smoky Bay on Saturday and will fill in when I get to Norseman.
Would be awful hard to keep an accurate and up to date Fuel Pricing index here. And there would always be gaps of areas where those on this forum were not.
