hi, they are auctioning new vans on ebay. wondered if anyone has bought one and what does everyone think? also, if they are sold at auction does that mean the warranty is non existant?

Can't answer your question about warrantee, but possibly not.
The list of inclusions is pretty light. The avert says no HWS (Not really good for a shower van), 2 X 4.5 Kg LPG cylinders, No spare wheel, and only includes a 82lt water tank. But it doesn't say if thing like, awning, external table, Radio, Air Conditioner, Front window stone guard, mud flaps, skylights/roof vents, battery smart charger etcetera, etcetera are included.
And a 40% deposit is required upfront.

The current auction is up to $28K for a 22ft van, and they will take you for a factory tour before you finalise your design. BUT regardless of what you find, you have to front up 40% of your bid inside 14 days, or they will start charging interest.
Note also that they will not reveal who the manufacturer is, and that the photos have nothing to do with the van you are bidding on, the floor plan is totally different.
I for one would not be buying any thing like a caravan unsighted off of e-bay,You could be bidding on a van that has faults, that may need a lot of money spent on it to get it up to scratch...and as for the bidding at what ever amount it is now ,who knows if the bidding is not from a family member or someone close to the seller .It happens all the time selling stuff via this way with dummy bidding.
A bloke from work sells stuff via this way, with his family members bumping up the bids.
I also have looked at these on Ebay and yes you only get the minimum inclusions. I would rather deal with a dealer (as I have) or buy private where I can look before I buy. Interesting comment though from herbie about people listing things and getting family to bid on them ?? you wonder how many bids get stuck with those family members??
Looking at the van in the picture, it is almost identical to ours, made by BLUESKY in Melbourne.....there is a lot that's not included, be very careful if you proceed. Build wise though they are a very good van....hope this helps
