My mother put her foot down when Dad decided it was time for a TV (1959?) She wanted a washing machine so wow we got both and was given a sunbeam mixmaster by the shop owner for the double purchase. Shop owner was Ughie Pound in Bunyip Victoria.

I have a distant memory of a Kangaroo that meant we were sent to bed every night.
