Our Travel Plans

Hi  Forum members,

This Friday will see my good wife and I starting our 8 week sojourn from Brisbane to Brisbane via St George, Lightning Ridge, Cobar, Broken Hill, Menindee, Wentworth, Renmark, Mildura, Hay, Echuca, then via Kidman way to Cunnamurra then home.

If any members are travelling along this route keep an eye out for a Silver BT-50 towing a Retreat Stradbroke. When camped  look for the guard dog, a little red poodle. I would like to meet up with some fellow

Bob

If you are looking for a good park in Lightning Ridge, we stopped at the Opal Tourist Park, I think it was a Top Tourist. Was excellent, just on the outskirts of town, the bathrooms were unbelievable, better than what some people probably have at home and the people who run it were very nice. We are from SA  and always stay at the Big 4 in Renmark during their rose festival , great spot right on the river although the park is a bit on the expensive side but if you get a waterfront site its  lovely and you will happily spend the day just looking at the river. We also free camp in Hay, down the river where they ski from which is a good site. Enjoy your trip, you never know we are heading back from Qld mid September so may see you on the road, we are coming home through Cunnamulla and Charleville and through Hay so you never know

Today I met Grandpabob and his goodwife who drive out to see me here at the Big Emu. What a fantastic surprise to meet another grey nomad couple. And a very nice couple too.
Bob I've realised why you might not be getting to many responses to meet others on your travels.
This thread had slipped back 3 pagesso wwouldn't be seen by many now.
That is why I have posted on here, helps bring it back to the front pages and to thank you for coming out from L.R. surprising me like that..
A pleasure to meet you.
