I think I stuffed up on the poll, but what the heck, I am retired from all sorts of office things now, and if that is worst I can do - well what can I say.

I have decided to bite the bullet and have chosen Thursday, 29th August for our get together in Rockingham. I hope this date will suit most.

Where:  Naval Memorial Park on Rockingham Beach Road, northern end carpark at the roundabout at Govenor Road opposite Cee & Sea Caravan Park (08) 9527 1297 - pet friendly

When: Thursday 29th August, from 11.30 am

Bring:  Your lunch and drinks, your own chairs, and a sense of fun  (Clean BBQs are available if you wish to use them)

The park is dog friendly, the beach appears to be off leash area if you need to bring along your four legged companion.

See as many of you there as can make it.....

Sounds good Dunmowin!  May I suggest that if the weather is foul (pouring) that everyone meet there at that time anyway and perhaps an alternative could be found (eg; Dome Coffee House?) or somewhere else under cover?????  Suggesting this in case Murphy arrives with the rain and we wouldn't want him putting members off from attending.....any thoughts ? confuse

The Rockingham Hotel is not far from the Cee And Cee and they do quite a nice lunch at a reasonable price, so if the weather is inclement it may be a good place to head for.

Sounds like a plan.  I will send out final "plans etc" closer to the day, along with my mobile phone number.  We could have as many as 20 attending.

Hi Spida, they are saying on Elders weather that there will be showers late in the day, so we still may get away with it.

Dunmowin's are working on final plans at the moment and have investigated things so will post them soon.

We are looking forward to it, I am sure it is going to be a great day so see you and others there on the day! smile

RE: WA get together, Rockingham (south of Perth) UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE

Hi all,  Given that the weather may be inclement for our get together this week, I have made the following changes:

Where:  Rockingham Foreshore Reserve on Rockingham Beach Road, at Alexandra Street intersection.  The logic behind this is that there is a large covered area, with three picnic tables underneath.

There is still plenty of parking both on the street (suitable for caravans) and off street.  We were there on Friday from approximately 11.30 till about 1.30, and only one other small group used the park.  Clean BBQs are available if you wish to use them, and toilets are located nearby.

The park is dog friendly (on lead), however the beach is off limits, if you need to bring along your four legged companion.

Wet Weather Option:  I have checked out the Rockingham Pub, they have $10.00 specials from midday, and a large area where we can sit at two large tables.  We will use this option if the weather is really bad, but will make the call on Thursday morning. I will be PMing all of you who have indicated you are attending, including my mobile to ring on the day.

When:  Thursday 29th August, from 11.30 am (we will be arriving around 11.00 to reserve the tables)

Bring:  Your lunch and drinks, your own chairs, and a sense of fun

Great get together and a wonderful turn out. A very enjoyable day. Good food and company. Couldn't ask for more.

Thanks for organising Dunmowin.
