We got Eberspacher D2. They sold webasto there too, the salesman said this was easier to install. Don't know if that is the case, but as they were much of a muchness, went this one. Started and ran beautifully and heated the van in no time.

shogun, as a thought, check out www.dieselheatingaustralia.com. They sell the "Snugger" heater, Sells for $899 if you mention Caravan & Motorhome Magazine. Ring the bloke in Sydney (Roger) and have a chat. Not running down Eberspacher or Webasto at all but I fitted the Snugger and couldn't be happier. If you go the Snugger way you will also need a tank. Theirs is 400 x 400 x 80, holds 10 litres, is opaque and sells for $120, Webastos is the same size, same capacity but costs $170.

hi bob did you buy yours thru diesel heater s and what size van ? we are at the buy stage now and appreciate hearing stories of snugger heaters and owners happy , have heard that they were noisy but heard 2 yr old ebsparcher going in a van last week and wouldnt have said it was quiet , i think it can sometimes be a personal opinion thingamy

Thanks for that Bob, can you hook those intothe main fuel tank, I'm trying to avoid another tank that's all.

Brett, you can use a pick-up that goes through the top of the truck fuel tank. That's why the 10 litre fuel tanks are sold separately.

It comes with a connection to get fuel direct from main tank as they are firstly designed for the trucking and MH industry. We have a 22' Supreme and it heats it up in less than 5 minutes. We have the control near the bed so SWMBO can reach up and turn it on but it uses so little fuel it is normally just left on when cold, like now. Roger from Diesel Heating has an interesting history in relation to 'other brands' but the product was real easy to fit and we are very happy and warm. If you go down that path, don't hesitate to contact me for some hints. Be more than happy to assist.
We would use less than 10 litres per week when using it often but this would drop as the weather warms. Ours is under the bed which directs the warmed air down the van but also keeps anything stored under there warm and dry. No chance of dampness which we have discovered occurs very easy.
Don't forget to quote C&M Magazine as it is $50 cheaper. If you are in or near Melbourne you can also save a few dollars by collecting. There warehouse is just off Hammond Road, Dandenong South.

I would get it installed professionally...don't trust myself :) ......any idea of cost to do that??

Got told they can charge for around 8 - 10 hours labour at between $80 to $100 per hour. Trust me, it isn't that hard. All the wiring looms are pre done. 1 goes to the battery, red to pos, black to neg. 1 goes to the fuel pump, plugs straight in and the 3rd goes to the controller, plugs straight in. Just a case of fitting the unit, the pump location, fuel lines and the tank. Take your time, all done and Roger is very accommodating in relation to advice,

When I did the costing's on our installation I was quoted $2,600.00 to supply and install. I finished up buying the Webasto for $1,360.00 including the 10ltr tank and installed it myself.

If you are a bit unsure it may be prudent to get the installation done professionally as the is a lot of money invested in your Motorhome

Cost me $2500 fully installed under forward. dinette seat, fuel straight from Ducato tank. Would not be without it, sorry we missed you, could not return your call when in Geelong if in fact that was you as call was blocked number.

On start up they make a noise, loud noise No. Internally they are far less than our roof mounted reverse cycle, and once up to temp they are not audable over radio or TV at normal hearing levels.

we would not be with out ours
