This was on the news tonight, Gidgegannup, north/east of Perth on the way to Toodyay.
According to a news report which showed the vehicles involved, a double trailer earth moving truck was coming down a hill and a car turning off the highway caused the truck to brake hard.
The end trailer of the truck swung around onto the wrong side of the road and a 4WD driven by a mother with her 6 and 3 year old children coming in the opposite direction slammed into it. They were all killed instantly, the truck driver suffered minor injuries and shock.
Travelling with traffic behind you when you want to turn off (eg: rest area or side street) on country roads has always worried me when driving wondering if they are going to overtake, and the swinging trailers of doubles when passing has always been scary to me.
Sad for everyone involved.

Yes, the are all very sad Chris, and we never seem to learn.
I have always felt uneasy having trucks passing me or if I am overtaking them I passing lanes, especially if the trailers are jumping around a bit.
I have put this on here before, but I often wonder what story there would have been from the deceased family of this one if they had survived. See link below; Click Save first when it opens, the click on open;

And another two people killed on WA roads after that. One was a motor cyclist hit be a truck and the other I think hit a tree. So sad for all the families involved. My son went to a funeral at Margaret River on Tuesday of a young 27 year old man killed driving home from Busselton. It is believed he fell asleep and hit a tree. Take care everyone.
