This is 2 pictures taken from the same angle from my front deck. The land slopes downhill for about 2km before gradually going up again, so the water must have been about 4km wide at that point. Not a scene I want to be able to photograph again, but offering my home to family whose place went under prompted me to hit the road longer term and I'm hooked on the travel now
It was, although by the time the water was near the posts of my house all other houses in the street bar 1 and including my son's house were already under, and my son and a neighbour had been out in a tinny rescuing those who needed it. Until it happened none of us believed it could get this high, so I guess the time when the nerves really start to show is next wet. Can only hope it doesn't happen again for another 200 years
