We are currently heading up the coast, leaving Airlie Beach today and heading to Bowen, Someone mentioned Newell Beach , north of Mossman was a lovely spot to stay , has anyone stayed there recently, I would love to stay somewhere right on the beach for a week or so along the coast somewhere so any suggestions. We had a great day today, went to Monte's for lunch which is at Hydeway Bay, beautiful spot for lunch and a walk on the beach, must be a bit of a secret spot because it wasn't busy and there is a caravan park there but not right on the beach.
A few that are right on the beach are, Rollingstone Beach Caravan Resort- Rollingstone.
Beachcomber Coconut Caravan Village- Mission Beach
King Reef Resort Caravan Park- Kurrimine Beach
Pinnacle Village Holiday Park- Wonga Beach.
Hope that's of help to you and enjoy your stay in beautiful Nth Qld.
Hi Jbrinks we were in the area 2 weeks called into Monte's but had lunch at gloucester Bay was very nice to lovely part of the coast and no wind , We have been at Deeragun just north of Townsville the weather has been a bit windy looks like it that way in the north at the moment might not be so great on the coast at the moment , Did you stay at the Hydeaway Bay caravan park or is there one at Monte's by the way loved Dingo beach pity there is no park there
We were staying at Airlie Beach and only did the day trip up to Monte's and Hydeway Bay and yes Dingo Beach was magnificent, best I have seen so far, could have layed on that beach for days. I met a lady who was staying at the Hydeway CP and she said it was great, mostly people who come each year.
Yes I think hydeaway caravan park may be worth a try , But wish there was a park at Dingo beach the Gloucester bay water looked great would take a bit of beating enjoy your trip if get a chance have look at Etty bay another top spot
Hi jbrinks, wife and I stayed at newell beach for two weeks last year. Only a small park but owners are very warm and friendly.nothing too much trouble.nice quite place ,good beach walks NAND fishing.well worth the drive cheers shayne
Forrest Beach CP - out of Ingham - is right on the beach. Great walking at low tide on firm sand, beach goes for kms. Fairly small park. Amenities not the greatest - but only $175 a week for powered site. Wonderful views across sea to Palm Island group.
