Thanks for your blog reports ,as I read your reports it makes me a little home sick ( well work site feeling lost ) I worked over and around that very area in WA in different mines. A fantastic place.A beaut place to visit with a lot of history is what is known as Tenindewa Pioneer Well only a few ks off the Geraldton-Mt Magnet road on a good solid dirt rd. Approx 20ks west of Mullewa.A good place to camp for awhile also it is hidden by scrub and trees.Level sites views of the small salt lakes good fire place with a hook for boiling the billy and a Bbq plate, fire wood, table and bench seats. This site/camp has good solid ground so if it rains it will not turn into 30cms of mud in an instant.
You will have a better chance of seeing wild flowers where ever the ground has been disturbed for some reaon.
Thanks Oma, dont apologise for flower pics, love it! Heres a wreath flower just out of Mullewa on the roadside. There was bright pink ribbon on the post, and stones around it.
.
The locals do everything they can to show off their beautiful wildflowers... we were there Aug 2011 for their festival, and it was absolutely glorious.
It would be worth hanging around for their festival, as some of the wild flowers on display in the hall you just cannot find them for what ever reason in the scrub on your own, but this hardy souls know where to find them.
Also during the wild flower season they open up a few show grounds to camp at around the area...Or they used to ..to cope with the influx of visitors. Over at Walkerway they set a low cost camp up.
