Never been to Lightning Ridge, but have read great reports about it. Definitely on my bucket list. Can't wait!

You will love it. We stayed three weeks and had a ball. Would go back in a heart beat.

Lightning Ridge is a place I think every one who has been there would return to.

Only trouble is if you stay a week or a month it never seems to be long enough, well that's how we find it to be .

I have heard over time people have gone there never to be found again.

Well there is some who don't want to leave.

I myself went there in 1973 and have been back, I guess getting upwards of dozen times and there is something that's

been there all the time then you spot it for the first time and it's been there all along. Great place.

Cactus Garden in 2002, wow I need to go back. The first of my digital photos Sony cyber-shot 1.3 megapixel camera and I thought I was big time back then.

Now using Canon 12 megapixel camera.

wow I love those cactus :) We're not there yet, we found a spot on the way outta dubbo called eumungerie where you can camp out for either 5.00 a night un-powered site or 10.00 powered, it has toilets and a cold shower.. the people are really friendly and the corner pub has meals.... I think we might stay a few nights :)

While at Dubbo did you visit the old goal I found it a great experience but that type of history is of interest to us

Not this time around, we are trying to get to a friends house in Queensland.. so we're heading straight there, we just move real slow.... and now have news that one of our fences fell over in gusty winds that hit our town so have to send more $$$ over to the kids so they can fix it.... I guess its free or very cheep places for us for awhile....

I liked the bloke trying to escape over the fence.

Western Plains Zoo was a must too.
