Laundry Pods

I think Sheba has one of these - there was discussion about them one other time.

Yep - did a search - was talk about these from Deals Direct on Feb 19 2012 - couple of people purchased them.

You're right Jules.  I bought one some time ago, but haven't used it yet.  It is just like a big Salad Spinner, with a handle in the Top, to turn it with.  No power needed, except for a little Elbow Grease.  biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

If you type "Laundry Pod" in the search box, you can see the Pics. I posted when I got mine, including the Instructions.

Cheers,

Sheba.

Hello all - I have been looking at the Deals Direct site and found one of these laundry pods.  Has anyone used these and if so are they good (for the want of a better word).  Can you wash one sheet in it also could you wash one towel in it (not at the same time though).  Also I saw a collapsible iron - what are these like (you would only have it and use it if you really NEEDED to).  Happy camping - thanks - Nelly

I went for a look myself. Is it plugged into power or do you spin it like a lettuce spinner? I never looked into it that far.

It looks like a manual set up as far as I can see.

It is like a lettuce spinner. There is a video on how it works. It is all done by spinning a handle but I am not sure how much it can hold.

Looks like a salad spinner to me too. I'd be curious to hear if anyone has used one too.

Thank you for your replies. Sheba even though you haven't used it do you think it would be big enough to wash a queen size sheet or a bath sheet?

Don't think so for either I'm afraid Nelly.  Might do a normal bath-towel, but I'm not even sure about that.  Good for a limited amount at any time.  Probably best for light gear only.

Cheers,

Sheba.

Thanks Sheba for your reply - it would have been good if it did but anyway that is how it goes. Maybe there is something else around - I will keep looking. Nelly

Got one of these ... useless!!!  Consign it to  the box with  Itechworld purchases!  I can do my washing when on the road with bucket and detergent Much quicker and effectively.  Lifeline are now the proud owner of mine.  If you don't have a proper type of washing machine, then hand washing is the only other option ... IMHO.

I hand wash - using a paint stirrer - it is a yellow disc with holes in it, attached to a chrome handle, that can be screwed onto a drill to stir paint, I presume. I screw it onto a mop handle, and it works perfectly, is easy to carry around with us, takes up virtually no room. A 20lt bucket half full of water with eucalyptus wool wash cleans our clothes most effectively. For some of the heavier things, I use the bullbar on the MH as a "wringer".

Works for me -cost under $10!!!!!!!!
