Who stole all the traffic. .??

Been slowly traveling from NSW northern rivers since 10 July and  have made it now to Duaringa overnight stop.  Cant help but wonder where all the traffic is?  Are they giving out free drinks or smarties on the Bruce Highway And I was never told??? There is certainly hardly any  on the Burnett Highway - mostly vans but little other traffic other than some local.

Stayed at Leslie Dam for 5 nights, overnight at Kumbia (like sardines ... will stay at Stuart River next time),Wuruma Dam for 3 nights -  a great place ... Definitely on my must come back to list!  Heading tomorrow to Theresa Creek Dam,  so if anyone there or heading there, look out for us .....  Drive safe

The Bruce Highway, southbound between Townsville and Rockhampton, has been very busy over the last few days with hundreds of military vehicles heading down to the war games at Shoalwater. About 40 trucks came into St Lawrence while we were there on the Camp Draft weekend. They were camped on the oval in town. On the way North we must have passed at least 500 -600 vehicles, tanks on low loaders, armoured vehicles, jeeps, trucks, you name it, they were on the Bruce.

They were also stopping in some of the roadhouses meals and snacks, we called into one of the roadhouses just after a huge group had left, the staff were breathing a sigh of relief, I must say!

Don't think some of the truckies were impressed though!! All military vehicles travelling at very steady speeds, which indicates "speed limiters" I suppose.

They used to have set speed limits for travelling in convoy Jules, not sure if it is the same today though, talking about ancient history (when I was in)....

I think all your traffic might have come south chaslib, the Princes H'way is very busy south of Sydney.

Couldn't agree more Rosey,  we were having a picnic/BBQ at Corunna Lake just south of Narooma the other day (meet up with sister and brother in law)

The traffic didn't stop all day...don't know what they were heading to, but we did notice a lot of motor bikes, vintage and older types, is there something special on for them somewhere?

cheers  Capricorn

Yes lotsa bikes recently, I suppose a club was having a rally somewhere nearby. We saw quite a lot of postie bikes last Saturday near Nowra, there's a club for them as well. ACT schools going back after this weekend, so the tourist-families will stay home again.
