THREE SPORTSMEN

Don't know how PC this is but here goes:

The sportsmen were talking about their greatest sporting ambition.

The first bloke was a golfer. He said he'd love to be in the US Open and come to the last hole of play. He'd be a stroke behind with the leader making a beautiful  30 foot putt for par. He'd be well up the fairway with his tee shot and his second would sail onto the green, lip the cup and drop in for an eagle. He'd win by a stroke. He couldn't imagine any sporting challenge that would provide a better feeling.

The second bloke was a cricketer. Australia would be playing a five test series in the Ashes. Oz and the Poms would be two each and the batting would be a bit of a problem (is anything ever any different?). In the fourth innings, with Australia nine wickets down and needing thirty runs off the last over, he'd manage a six off the final ball, winning the match and the series. That would be the pinnacle of his sporting career.

The third bloke was a footballer who played full forward for Collingwood. Homo, he reckoned his greatest sporting ambition would be for the Pies to be three points down in the final moments of the Grand Final, for him to take a screamer of a mark with just seconds left and to take his kick for goal after the siren... only to kick a behind and lose the match by two points.

"But how could that compare with our achievements?" asked the other two.

"Because," he replied, "50,000 people at the MCG would scream out at the top of their voices, '$#@% him...' !!!"
