Chalet Camper Trailers

Quite some time ago these were being made (under licence from the US I think) or assembled and sold by Kimberley Campers at Ballina, NSW.  There are a number of these earlier models around in Oz.

I have noticed a few late models for sale recently (see this ad) and I was wondering if they had a new supplier/agent in Australia?

These were a competitor of A'van Camper Trailers, see also this US site for the Chalets;

There were some subtle differences with the A'Van Camper Trailer Doug, such as leaf spring suspension on the Chalet but independent suspension on the A'Van, but I hadn't heard of anything adverse about them.

The reason for my original question on whether Chalet were still being sold in Oz is I saw a 2013 model  advertised for sale in Oz so either they are still being sold in Oz somewhere or it has been imported privately.

Here is another one of the older models of Chalet that were made;

I think there may have been some legal tussle at one stage in Oz over copyright issues way back but can't recall now.

I believe the one you may be thinking of with problems (roof leaking) was a similar product to A'van camper trailers but with a flat roof that was made by Coromal (several different size models and floor plans like A'van camper trailers), Coromal discontinued making this particular type of camper trailer but not sure if that was because of problems with it.   They still make their other types of camper trailers.

Here is a pic of one model of the Coromal camper trailer of the type they discontinued making;

There's something a bit sus about the 2013 Chalet shown in the first link :

The add quotes Tare weight 905kg and ATM 1587kg - subtract those and you get a Payload of 682kg.

There's no way you'd get a payload of 682kg in that ! A normal single axle van has a 'general payload' allowance of 300kg.

My 2012 Aliner has a Tare of 800kg and an ATM of 1100kg - payload of 300kg max

 These are the weights shown on the US Chalet site for the same model, XL-1930, shown in LBS, how do they compare with the advertised one in Oz?  Their terminology is different from that used in Oz....
