Ok then, Here I am again and still in Townsville so time for a quick instalment of my Northern Migration.
Not much has taken place during the last week as early in the week I developed a bad head cold and cough and that was accompanied by aches and pains to most of the body so that kept me in dry dock for a few days. I did go to the local cinema to see a movie, pulled up out front of the cinema and felt like ???? so about faced and headed back to my bed for a few hours. Now I must have been crook to miss out on a movie. I still did the afternoon school run though to help out my daughter because if she picks the kids up after work it takes her 1 hour to get home, with me picking the kids up she is home in 20 mins, so I reckon that's a big help for her.
Now on Thursday, crook or not I had to pack up the Avan in readiness to take it to the Dometic fridge agent here in down town Townsville as the 3 way fridge was only working 2 ways, gas and 12v, no 240v working. They wanted it 8.00am Friday as that was the only time they could fit me in for about another month, so no sleep-in. After speaking with a few GN's it was thought it might be the 240v heater element gone on the blink. Fellow GN's are very knowledgable people you know. If you want to know anything about caravans etc just ask a few, you will soon find out for yourself.
Now the Friday arrived and although I was still a bit unwell with the head and chest thing I had work to do so off I went to the fridge man. He checked it over with his testers etc and yep, sure was the heater element so he said to wait as he will change it over there and then, now I can't complain about that. He did however slap me with a gas non compliance certificate for not having a 40mm hole in the floor at the back of the fridge as the bottom vent was about 25mm above floor level. Something to do with gas leaks, now I wonder what the vents are for apart from air flow? No biggy as I have heaps of time to drill a hole and water and pest proof and it some how, although the manufacturer should deal with that, I will deal with them on return to my home land but in the mean time, on with the thinking cap.
He also wanted the receipt of purchase as Dometic give a 2 year warranty and I had 2 weeks left before it run out so the fridge work was covered under warranty, bonus. After about 2 hours, job done and dusted so back to my daughters back yard I went and set up again. I spent Friday testing it all to make sure all works, 12v tested and works, Gas tested and works and 240v works as well, job done.
If anyone is in Townsville and needs their fridge looked at 'Sun City Refrigeration' in Pilkington Street, railway end.
Now the word 'home' is starting to appear in my mind and my feet are getting itchy so I think it is about time to start thinking of turning this Northern Migration, South, note I said thinking. Besides, September and that house sitting over at Batemans Bay is just around the corner.
The weather gods have had the control set to good weather yet again and even the rain god pushed the water button but someone bumped it and turned it off within seconds so no rain that is worth talking about, no complaints from this mexican and I tell you that for free.
I have included some pics from around Townsville for those of you that asked me to include pics in these updates. See, I always do what I'm told.
Yibida Yibida, that's all folks.

Great photos, Doug, and an interesting update as usual. Too bad about the cold though. You'd better get rid of it before you hit Batemans Bay... bit chilly down there.
