We have Irfanview in this computer, you can download it for free. Very easy to re-size with this.

I'm not very tech-savvy, just do as I'm told! Best wishes Mongrel.

I use Paint Alan, got to the pic in My Pictures, highlight or open it up, right click and choose "open with" from the drop down menu, the "paint" up on the left of that you will see resize, I change the 100% to 30% and then click save, job done, then upload to forum as usual.

As Marg says, easy....when downloading from camera before saving the pics to a location, you can also resize them beforehand too as well as afterwards.   If you want to save a full size copy, save to my pictures, then right click and do copy and paste copy in my pictures, then use the copy for resizing, which means you will still have the original in the full size.....I don't bother but someone did tell me that if you wanted to download them onto a stick for taking and printing off photo's somewhere, then full size is best.

a good way to post pics here is when you start or reply to a post click on advanced editor

then further down is attach files, click on that and then you should have windows explorer open

and find where your pic is, click on the pic you want, and it will say  loading attatchements

or some thing like that with a blue line showing its progress...

then you just hit submit post, when you see your post, pics should be like a thumb nail (small)

then you click on the pic and brings it up bigger..

oh back up your pics, not just on cd or hard drive, go to a site like photobucket.com or flickr.com

and store your pics there, i do that will all of mine..

any way good luck..

another idea is try uploading to photobucket.com and then
when uploaded you should have a screen like this

then you click on where it says img and should say copy

then copy that and then right mouse click and should be able to past here in the post on the forum and hopefully it should work thats the long way around tho, don't know about windows 8... sorry

I have tried all the options suggested but with no luck .Windows 8 does not have explorer ,so unable to use your suggestion Milo'.... Duh,have tried your method but will not let me open the file and will not allow the transfer of my pics..Not even telling me where I am going wrong..Now consulting with an IT guy..Waiting to here back from him...All I can do now is wait.
The good news now is that I can now access the forum and posts which last night was near impossible..I appoligies again if I have not answered..This is very frustrating ..You would think that with a new poota you would not have these problems..Purchased this computer in prep for our travels and am trying to set up just for use as our nomad records and forum observations..Do not have any problems on the desk top {windows 7]....Thanks all Alan..

Good luck Alan, I hope your tech can sort it for you before you take off.

It will hopefully only be something simple like a setting or similar.  smile
