Because that's where the work has taken me.  I've been here on and off for 5 days.  When I was off I was heading to Biloela, Kingaroy, Biloela and Gladstone.  Sort of a tourist.

I'm doing local work tomorrow, and more up here on Wednesday.  Who knows.  I may get stuck here like I did in WA, and I'll need a passport to get out.  According to the CB radio this morning, the highways were jammed with oversize out of Mackay.  This must be the place to be.

I have to admit, I'm slothing in comfort with Betty Benz.  I had to give the poor love a wash yesterday.

The roadworks throughout Qld are vast, and the road-base they use sticks like that stuff to a blanket.  Let's hope the quality of the rebuilds is better than the stuff they're replacing.  Yep!  It's all go here.

I haven't been on the forum much lately, so I missed the obvious vehicle change Chris. Do you still have the caravan? Or is this your new travel rig?

At least you are up in the warm CG instead of this miserable cold weather that's down this way. It's horrible and miserable and I would rather be up there with you please. lol

Well Beth, I still have the caravan as "home". The new vehicle is the "Executive Suite", know to her friends as "Betty Benz".
I'm doing pilot work in a luxury vehicle. Many of my transport co-workers are excited for me, and I have to admit I'm just a little bit proud of my investment.
I'm going to sell Rosy, but I have to clean her up first. I can't sell a dirty vehicle.
There will also be a few other items for sale, now surplus to requirements.
I'm enjoying the warmth of Mackay, even though it did rain a bit this morning. Humidity is higher than would be normal for this time of the year, but I'm loving it.

Ditto! I guess it's not as cold here as it is down there Marj, but anything under 15 is cold to me!

It's looks like a great vehicle for the job Chris. Very suitable. Have fun!

A few weeks ago we travelled from Townsville to Toowoomba - coastal to Rocky then inland down to Dalby. What surprised us was the number of unescorted wide loads around Monto and Biloela - some without rotating beacons or signs and belting along. I'd guess they were running the gauntlet.
Good Luck.

I'd love to hear more about the Sprinter Pros and Cons. Might be a little premature yet. Glad to hear you have the comfort you deserve.

Chris has a good reason for hiding as far away as she can from Adelaide . I heard from my next door neighbors 3 times removed cousin who heard it from the bloke across the road in the great big bus who heard it from their 300 times removed aunty that Chris actually stole her new vehlapede from the bloke she dealt with
