Yes, Gary does it too, Vic. It's HTML code, which means it's invisible on a page like this, so I can't type it out for you to see! At least, I don't think so. Lemme try. If I wanted to turn -this line of text- into a live link I would insert <a href="URL of web site">this line of text</a> Now what's the bet that doesn't work when I post it?

Ooer! It did! So if you want to insert a link into your post, write the post without the HTML code, then click the HTML button on the page, insert the HTML code as shown above, click on show preview to check that the link is live, and then click submit post. Clear as mud?

Me again. If the URL is complicated or not easy to remember, go to the web page you want to link to, highlight the URL, use Ctrl c (holding down Ctrl while you type c) to copy it to memory, then using Ctrl v, paste the URL after <a href=" and remember to close the URL with ">this line of text</a> Got it?

OOps so it is Vic, sorry mate.

What I do to make the link is type an appropriate name eg "Look at this link".

Then I go to the page I want to point to and copy the URL like Gary suggested ie. highlight the text in the address box at the top of the page and press control c.

Then I highlight the name I have given it in the forum message editor and click on the chain icon in the editor menu bar. (You need to be in advanced editor)

A box comes up with the cursor blinking in the "link URL" box, just press control v to paste the url and click the insert button.

Done.
