So you want to see said cancerous nose Bill? I don't know that it'll show up in a photo, but I'll try it out tomorrow.
Gary, yes, I expect it won't be a pretty look.
Hako, I don't recall the thread, but I'm glad it helped.
Doug, I wonder how far that Wombat roams? My cousin in Townsville stepped off her veranda into a hole and sprained her ankle really bad, all black and blue and swollen. Poor love, but I did wonder after your comment here...
Thanks all.

I've had a couple of medical problems again, and still waiting for my cancerous nose job to be done, so I've been frustrated at not being able to go anywhere.
Hence I didn't really want to read about other peoples travels. I know, that's just silly.
I haven't totally isolated myself from the forum though. I've put my two bobs in here and there occasionally.
I still can't go anywhere until this nose job is done though. Bl.oody hospitals and their bl.oody waiting lists! Sorry, I just had to vent. I know there would be a lot of people in more need of plastic surgery than me, but it doesn't help my frustration at the wait.
Hope you get the nose job done soon, they do seem to be speeding things up at least in Qld. You once said something in reply to something I said that could be taken 2 ways....and what you said made me feel better on account of the fact that you saw good in what could be considered bad. Good Luck Beth.
Good luck with the op, Beth. I had a nose job a few years ago and spent a month or so wearing a bandage like a little pumpkin. Not a good look hehe. But it turned out okay.
I hope you are all right , Beth.Since we can,t see you , we catch see your face either, so don,t worry, be happy.Hope to be down in October. Take it easy, Bill
Was thinking you must have been a bit "indisposed" Beth, as haven't seen that much of you on site - but we have had intermittent connection for the last four or five days, and I have had food poisoning - very nasty!!!! Over it now, but it sure takes it out of you!!
Hope you get your "nose job" soon - are you going for a Sophia Loren or Angeline Jolie look?

As long as it turns out better than my Dad's nose job of many years ago. My nose doesn't have much flesh on it either, which may make it more difficult to make it pretty. :shrug"
That's very noticeable Beth. Thought it would have been more on the side. That's where my suspect redness is.
It's amazing how long they are making you wait considering they have already told you its cancer.

You're right, its like a little dimple! Who would have thought it was bad to have a little "dimple", always thought cancerous thingys were lumps!!!
Wow, makes you think.
Good luck with that surgery Beth, hope its soon and hope it heals quickly.
The first I knew about it Gerty, was a little scab appeared from nowhere. I was careful with it, and when it came off this divot was there. Yes, not what I'd expect cancer to be.
I actually did have another a few years ago, up near the bridge of my glasses. It was just a tiny little dry spot. There's so many different kinds of skin cancer, you just never know.
These mongrel diseases take many forms, long after we've been afflicted.
Have confidence Beth. The "selfie" shows a ding in the nose. Depending on how far the cells have spread, you'd be surprised how clever these surgeons are. I'm sure they'll do their best to make your snoz a cute as it ever was, or maybe even cuter. It may involve a skin graft from somewhere else, but I'm sure you'll get through it ok.
Don't wait for them to call you. You call the hospital to ask when you're listed. They may have a date, but chances are they don't. If you've seen the specialist and the surgeon your wait will be shorter.
When I get sick of waiting because I'm always in a hurry to get rid of pain and discomfort asap, I call the hospital to check my place on the list. I may not be listed, but by the end of the call they have given me an appointment so I could arrange travel from eg Broome or Cairns to the city hospital.
Keep at them to get answers and treatment. Good luck. You'll be fine.

I had a bcc taken off the end of my nose about 10yrs ago.
The skin graft they put over it was taken from behind my right ear.
It was like having a face lift on one side.
Would have loved them to tighten up the other side..
All well though, but I do have a divet on one side of my nose
Yes Chris, I am on the list. They've told me that much. And the doctor told me they'd have to do a skin graft, yes, from behind the ear usually. At my first discussion with the lovely doctor at Molescan, he said they'd need to take out piece around 2cm diameter. That was in March.
Someone else suggested I ring them, so I'll do that tomorrow.
I really appreciate the support Bill, and everyone else.
The medical problem I mentioned on starting this thread was about the Ulcerative Colitis, but I won't go into that, other than to say that I had a short spell in hospital.
We too are being held up by my nose; or rather our trip is being held up. I have an appointment with a plastic surgeon in Cairns on Friday 12th and if all goes well, stitches out on 18th and then hit the road at last on 20th. Just HATE those needles in the nose. Yuk.
There's always someone worse off Beth, but I'm afraid that doesn't make one feel any better. You're entitled to vent. Must admit I wonder sometimes what they've spent all my medicare levy on. Hope your nose job gets done soon and well so you can get back to enjoying yourself.
See you out there one of these days

That's the most annoying bit, I haven't been able to 'get out there' all through autumn as I'd planned. I'm getting very toey.
And Marge, yes that needle in the nose is the most painful needle I think I've ever had. That was for the biopsy. Lucky my daughter was able to come and I squeezed her hand very tightly. She was still there when he used the corkscrew thingy to get the biopsy, and I opened my eyes a slit and she was pulling a face that almost cracked me up.
The operation itself will be done under sedation, but not full-on Anaesthetic, so I won't have to suffer that needle in the nose again.
