Cold wet days.

noconfuse I am sitting here looking out the window at a cold wet winters day, use to love days like this, but not so much anymore. I am toying with the idea of having a PJ day, sitting around in the pj's and dressing gown all day not doing too much at all, watching a sooky movie, doing a little hand sewing of a completed quilt, and this had me thinking, what would I do when I am out on the road. Some how I don't think jammy days would be appropriate, although all cuddled up in a MH or caravan could be quite cosy also. I know this question has been posed before on the forum, however just wondering what others do when it is a cold wet grey day outside. I know one could pack up and head to parts warmer, although I am sure that there are times when that would not be practical or even wanted to be done.

Upon reflection as I look around what I need to do today, guess better head to the shower and dress, and then just get on with my day.

Cheers everyone and have a great day doing whatever you are doing or going to do. smile

Sounds like a good plan there Shekon. No need for that up here in the Tropic's (Townsville) it is quite warm bordering hot at the time this goes to press. Now the locals would say it's cold probably.

We still have "chillout" day's even in the caravan, just carried it on from when we had a house.
Get up, look out, back to bed, watch TV, read.
No real problem at all, it's not like people come knocking on your door either.
Just listening to it all going on outside and nobody knowing what you are doing!!

Its less fun when you have to go out in the rain to use the amenities!!!

We've had some unfriendly weather over the last couple of weeks at home, and we've cheered ourselves up by saying "At least we can go to the loo without getting dressed in raincoat and boots and going out into the rain!"

Have decided for long-distance caravanning a toilet and shower is a must.

I had a quiet day helping my mate put his tinny on his mooring in ****le bay, on the Sw of Magnetic is. One of the owners of a house there decided that he didn,t like us mooring there. I asked if he owned the beach, to which he said No.Then I told him to go to hell.I have had this problem before- people who buy beach houses thinking they own the beach in front of their house. NO ONE owns beaches in OZ.They are crown land and open to all.Burns me up a bit , these people. Bill

Well succumbed to my own pressure and decided a shower and dressing was called for. While a great idea Dougwe, I just couldn't do it. Ironing done, tidying up done, then Sunday drive for my mum. Down to the sea to see the rough sea, feed the seagulls chips and now back in front of the fire.

Gerty a shower and toilet is on the top of must haves for me. And jumbo, not sure about the footy replay, a spooky movie would be more my speed. And as Mark said shut the door and nobody would know what you were up to. Hmmmm.

One day soon that freedom will be mine also.

I woke with my head full of a cold so did stay in bed longer than usual. I even got breakfast in bed. Now that's a long time since. Then I rolled over and stayed there a bit longer before finally getting up to find some warmth in the sun. Being retired is good on these sort of days. Meant I didn't have to share my germs with anyone. Hate that 'Soldier on...' ad which infers you take your germs out to the world. Keep them at home I say.biggrinbiggrin

Make sure you get rid of it properly Ruth before I visit in the Spring. As you know I will be just a tad north of you.

I'll be a solo traveller so on wet days I'll be inviting my porta potti to join me inside. As to how to spend the day, lazily I should think. I enjoy writing so I'd certainly do lots of that. But it's all speculation at this point. If there were other campers nearby, I guess we'd find a nice, dry place to sit and chat. Anyway, whatever happens, it'll all be part of the adventure.

hi. last year at Bribie Island it rained for a week. was sick of it in the end but i amused myself by getting kids books out from the local library. I filmed myself (dressed in a very bright pink and colourful fairy outfit) reading these stories out loud. i sent the dvd's to my grandchildren who love watching "Nanna Fairy" . Don't know what the neighbours thought of it all if they heard me reading kids stories outloud though. certainly wittled away the hours.
